|Instructor Bio:||Lawrence Nobrega, coordinator, is a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.
This introductory course is for both sail and power boaters and includes instruction on safety afloat, legal responsibilities, aids to navigation, rules of the road, charts and compass, engines, knots, weather, boat handling, radio procedures, and navigation electronics. Completion certificate is helpful in reducing boat insurance fees. Families are welcome. Children age twelve and older are encouraged to attend with a parent at a special reduced rate. This course qualifies as a water safety requirement for every state. Enrollment limited. Course materials $30-$45 in class. No class Wednesday, November 23.
